A charming two-door sedan, with just over 100,000 miles since new. The car is finished in attractive Titian Maroon paint, over a very solid, rust-free, body. The Tan Leather interior has been redone to a very high standard. There are several mechanical elements, which have also recently been refurbished, including: brakes, wheel bearings, tires, and more. The car drives as though it was brand new.

1938 was a very important year for Buick. While exterior styling remained close to the 1937 models, there were many improvements, underneath the sheetmetal.

The "trunk back" styling gave the Special a distinctive profile, far more appealing than the earlier fast back designs. Our example is currently, and permanently, registered as a Pennsylvania "Antique Historic Car". The antique tag automatically transfers with the title of the car, and will never need to be renewed in Pennsylvania.

The 1938 Buicks saw the introduction of coil springs for the first time on any production automobile. The coils were far softer-riding than leafsprings, and they also employed the largest shock absorbers the industry had ever seen. As a manufacturer, Buick was truly far ahead of its time.

The rear seat passengers are treated to leg room, more generous than most four-door sedans of today.

Buick opted for the sporty floor-mounted shifter, rather than the more common "three on the tree" steering column-mounted, approach.

The art-deco dash board is a masterpiece. The gauges are clearly laid-out and easy to read, while still being simply stunning to look at. The design team at Buick certainly knew what they were doing.
